A recent job from the Witton factory: bespoke fabricated trays in 5083 aluminium. The brief was a sturdy, open-slat tray with a clean industrial finish - not a catalogue part, but a one-off assembly made to the customer’s design.
5083 is a marine-grade aluminium that welds well and holds up in demanding use. We TIG welded the frames and joints so the beads stay neat and the corners stay true, then assembled the slotted base with mechanical fasteners where the design called for them.
Once fabricated, the trays were given a gentle polish rather than a high-mirror shine - enough to clean the mill finish and show the grain, without hiding the welds or the work that went into them.
Jobs like this sit alongside our everyday MIG and TIG welding and general fabrication: cut, weld, assemble and finish under one roof. If you have a similar tray, frame or aluminium assembly, send a drawing or sketch and we will quote from Birmingham.
